Track24 appoints new Defence Sector Director

London, 12 July 2010 – Track24, the market leader in the security tracking risk management sector (STRMS), has appointed defence technology specialist, Giles Peeters, as Defence Sector Director. Peeters will be working from Track24’s new North American offices in Ottawa to drive the company’s continued expansion into the defence sector, with its new, defence specific, Situational Command and Control (SCC) platform.

Track24 provides hardware and software solutions to enable organisations to track personnel, vehicles, aircraft and maritime vessels. With the launch of its Canadian office, the organisation now has a presence across all time zones.

The company’s integrated command, control, communications, crisis management and information platform will provide the defence sector with situational awareness, two-way messaging and emergency response capabilities. Users will monitor their personnel and assets remotely, with the help of tracking devices, messaging systems and panic-buttons. The technology is encrypted to standards required by militaries and governments with no point of weakness, and services are provided over satellite, radio or GSM/GPRS networks.

Peeters spent 19 years working in satellite and communications for the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence, before moving to the private sector to consult for organisations such as NATO, on Blue Force Tracking requirements.

He comments: “Track24 appealed to me, as the solution is put together in a way that truly meets the needs of today’s defence market. For the first time militaries and operational commanders will benefit from high capability, and the reduced costs associated with commercial systems, without compromising on security integrity or interoperability.”

Peeters will be expanding Track24’s defence presence through a network of global distributors.
